I am way behind on posting! We've had a lot going on in the past month. Whit was sick for the first time, and it was no fun for any of us. Poor guy had a stomach virus and was under the weather for several days. It's great to finally see him back to his usual cheery self now. He had a big weekend this past weekend. He took his first airplane ride to go meet his friend Weston Gray. We had a great trip to Dallas and Whit was a champ on the flights. We'll have pictures to post from the trip pretty soon. It was a lot of fun. Whit is growing like crazy and crawling all over the place. He's also getting good at pulling up. He has two top teeth and two bottom teeth, and he's working on getting a third bottom tooth. I promise to do some bigger posts with more pictures soon! Here are a few pictures for now:

The day he turned 8 months

He loves his baths now. These pictures are actually a couple of weeks old. He's moved back to the big tub now. It's hard to believe he hated his baths for a while. Now he wants to stay in and play and splash as long as possible. He's definitely mastered the splashing part. ;) Please forgive the quality of the rest of the pictures. They are taken with my phone.

Here he is after enjoying some delicious graham crackers. They are still his favorite food!

And these are him napping (?!) in Dallas. :)

Whit's First Fourth of July

If this doesn't stir your sense of American pride, I don't know what will! Whit may have been a little too busy playing with his holiday gear to look at the camera, you still can see that he was feeling VERY patriotic on the 4th. Thanks to Nana and Papa for the perfect photo op!

Seven Months Old

Whit was seven months old on the 3rd. Here is a picture of him celebrating! These days he's also busy cutting his third tooth. The top left tooth is coming through now. And we did our at-home (and not entirely accurate) method of weighing him a few nights ago, and it said that he was 20.2 lbs! Hard to believe. He's certainly growing fast.

Whit had a huge time staying with his Nana and Papa last week. They did a great job of taking lots of pictures, but this is one is my favorite. Not only did Papa let Whit have the sports page first, he even gets to use the razorback mug for his coffee! ;) He looks like he's loving his new morning ritual.

Speaking of things that Whit loves, his new favorite things are graham crackers. Dr. Lucas told us that they were a good food for him to try feeding himself. He was right and Whit loves them. They still make a pretty big mess for now, but it's totally worth it.

He still loves his jumperoo...

He's also getting a lot better at his crawling. He isn't all over the house quite yet, but he's getting close. He gets stronger and more mobile everyday. He now crawls forward and then sits up from the crawling position. He tries pulling up, and he's a great independent sitter now. It's amazing watching him learn new things all the time.

Climbing and lovin' on his Papa...

He still hasn't been the biggest fan of bath time. While he was at my parents' house, Nana figured out that he enjoyed a sink bath! I guess he is self-censoring the picture. :) Thanks for the discovery, Nana!

It was pretty clear that he had a great time during his stay!

Our Rockstar in Training

Looks like we have a little rock star in the making! Whit loves his guitar that Nana and Papa gave him for Christmas. Most of the time he plays it while laying on his tummy and patting it. He occasionally even hits the strings with his chin. Now THAT's talent!! (Oh, and he's also really good at sitting up these days.)

Trip to Kansas City

Whit had a big time on our trip to see Bebe and Jim. Like I said before, he was a good little travel companion on the way to and from Kansas City. We got to see Bebe and Jim's pretty new house, and of course do some shopping and good eating too. No trip to Kansas City is complete for our family without a trip out to Cabela's. Jason got Whit his first (of many, I'm sure) treat from Cabela's. It's the smallest t-shirt they sell, but is still too big for now. Pictures of him in it will have to come later. :) Do you think Whit's Bebe was happy to see him? Thanks to Bebe and Jim for a great visit!

Six Months

We took some pictures the morning that he was six months old (June 3rd). Time sure does seem to fly these days.

Big Pop and Susie's Visit

Big Pop and Susie came over and babysat for us a few weeks ago. Luckily for us, we haven't had to beg too hard for babysitters yet! But we certainly still appreciate them. Here are a few pics from their visit.

Happy Birthday Hattie

I've been wanting to post these pictures for a while now, and Hattie's 1st birthday was my motivation to do it! These pictures are from way back in February, but they are just too funny not to post. Whit was 2 months old at the time, and Hattie was 7 1/2 months. Happy Birthday to Whit's friend Hattie!

Updates

Whit went for his 6 month check-up on Monday, and he was 18 lbs, 9 oz and 27 inches long! He's growing so fast. The check-up went very well. He's cutting two teeth now. One is about half-way in, and the other is just breaking through. I haven't had a chance to get our most recent pics uploaded, but we'll have an update with pics of our trip to Kansas City soon. He had a big time and was a good trooper on a road trip once again.

New Pics

Jason and I took some new pictures of Whit last week and these are some of our favorites. These were taken one week before he turned six months old.

Our Little Jumping Bean

Lately he LOVES his jumperoo that he borrowed from his friend Aiden. He seemed indifferent to it for quite a while, then suddenly he just goes to town jumping when we put him in it and he loves it.

Food!

Whit has been eating rice cereal for a couple of weeks now, and this week he tried some squash. So far he seems to like everything pretty well. I think we have a good eater on our hands. Most of the food even makes it into his mouth now. That was certainly not the case at first! He still needs a bath most nights after he eats though.

Aunt Jane and Uncle Ty's Wedding

The trip to Destin for the wedding was great. We were a little nervous about the road trip with a five month old, but he was awesome. He slept most of the way down there. We left after work on Tuesday and drove to Hattiesburg. That only left us about four hours to drive on Wednesday, which worked out great.

We hung out in the Village each day, and went to different Village restaurants each night. Whit was such a trooper. He clearly likes being on vacation as much as the rest of the family! He was the life of the party everywhere we went.

The wedding was absolutely gorgeous. Aunt Jane was a beautiful bride. And Whit was so thrilled to finally be able to call Tyson his uncle!

It was a great trip and we can't wait to go back. Especially now that we know what a good little traveler we have. Many thanks and congrats to Aunt Jane and Uncle Ty for tying the knot and for giving us such an amazing vacation!
